Federal agents joined the Havelock Police Department in executing warrants for the arrest of a Havelock man on drug charges Friday afternoon.
Seneca P. Bendich, 35, of Havelock, was arrested about 3 p.m. after more than a dozen officers surrounded a small apartment complex at 607 East Main St.
Bendich, who resided in apartment 13, was taken into custody by at least four federal agents and at least nine Havelock Police officers.
According to Lt. Brian Woods, of the Havelock Police Department, Bendich was arrested after police served two felony warrants for possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
For a time, two other residents of the complex were handcuffed and interviewed by officers.
Woods said the investigation is ongoing and would not give further details.
According to the N.C. Department of Corrections, Bendich has a record, which includes a conviction for felony manufacturing marijuana and maintaining a place for the purpose of a controlled substance for which he spent four months in jail in 2011. He also spent 15 days in jail for shoplifting in 2011.
