Two men from Havelock and another from Newport face charges in connection with a Friday night shooting in Morehead City.
Terry K. George Jr., 27, of Newport and Demetre L. Frazier, 19, and Shaquan M. Frazier, both of Havelock, were arrested by Morehead City Police Department for their involvement in an alleged exchange of gunfire between the occupants of a second vehicle.
George remained in the Carteret County Jail Monday night under a $200,000 bond and Demetre Frazier under a $90,000 bond. Shaquan Frazier was released from jail after posting bond, according to information from the jail.
Police Maj. Bernette Morris said the three men and one juvenile were taken into custody following the Friday night shooting that occurred about 11 p.m. on U.S. 70 near the Crystal Coast Shopping Center.
She said officers responded to a call about shots fired near the shopping center. The vehicles had left the scene but officers got a description of the two vehicles.
The four individuals taken into custody were in a silver Toyota Camry with bullet holes and a shattered windshield that was located in Havelock.
Morris said police are still searching for the occupants of the second vehicle, which was described as a white SUV with Florida tags.
George is charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. Demetre Frazier is charged with felony conspiracy and possession of a firearm by a felon. Shaquan Frazier is charged with felony conspiracy.
Further information was not immediately available on the juvenile.
