A Havelock man has been arrested in connection with a series of several vehicle break-ins and attempted armed robbery.
William Alexander Pugh, 20, is being held in the Craven County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond, according to a release from the Havelock Police Department.
Pugh is charged with four counts of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and four counts of misdemeanor larceny after breaking and entering, and attempted armed robbery, according to the release. The alleged break-ins and larcenies reportedly happened on May 31 in the Poplar Street, Fox Hall Road and Pineview Street areas.
Pugh was alleged to have been involved in an attempted armed robbery on Saturday in the area of Cedar Ridge Lane in Havelock, according to the release. In that case, Pugh is alleged to have used a handgun while attempting to take money from a person.
During the investigation into the robbery, police found that Pugh was involved with the series of car break-ins, according to the release. Investigators recovered property that was taken from the vehicles, including laptop computers, GPS units and iPods. The owners of the property have been notified by police of the recovery of the items.
An investigation continues regarding residential and other vehicle break-ins and police say that additional charges and arrests may be made.
