The Havelock-Craven County Public Library is seeking feedback from users and residents.
Robert Burgin, a consultant conducting a community needs assessment of libraries in Craven County, is scheduled to be at the library from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday to hear from the public.
Margie Garrison, head librarian in Havelock, is encouraging residents and users of the library to come out and be heard.
She said Burgin wants to meet with members of the community who will let him know what is needed in Havelock at its branch library.
"He wants to know what is lacking in Havelock as far as the library goes. What’s needed? How we can better serve the community," she said. "I’d like to hear from people who don’t use the library, why they are not able to use it. And if people use the library, we want to know what their needs are that are not being met."
A survey for those unable to come and meet with the consultant on Tuesday is also available. The multiple-choice survey includes questions about resources and how they may be improved. It also asks users how often they come to the library and what resources are important to them.
"We want to know how often they use the library and what they use it for," Garrison said.
