“I would also like to give a huge thanks to Wikipedia, the online source for all of our true knowledge as well as McDonalds for allowing us cheap food,” Gumbel said.

After marching across the stage, turning their tassels and tossing their caps into the air, the graduates were received by parents and family members.

“It’s almost hard to believe I’m graduating,” said Nicholas Lynch. “Freshman year literally feels like last year. You wouldn’t believe how fast it goes by.”

Lynch plans to attend North Carolina State University  and study accounting.

Joely Castillo received a tearful hug from her proud mother, Judith Nunez.

“You don’t really understand it until it happens,” Castillo said. “You realize it’s time to be a broke college student. Being in high school I had a great deal of learning, btoh academically and socially in and out of school at Havelock.”

Castillo is going to the City College of New York City to study nursing.
