Commissioners also voted to pay a $3,800 increase in fees to the city’s lobbying group, the Franklin Partnership, with the understanding that a workshop would be held to determine the scope of additional services being asked of the firm.

The city already pays the company $45,000 for its work. The additional money is expected to go toward support of Cherry Point lobbying as part of a regional and state cooperative effort.

In other action Monday night, commissioners appointed Layne Harpine and Bob Mattocks to at-large seats on the Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation Board of Directors.
