Drug bust "takes the cake" for suspect stupidity

Woods said that the pills did come from Serbia, through Memphis, Tenn., and that they were manufactured by the company Galenika and purchased online.

Price and Charlton were initially taken to the Craven County Jail but have since been released on bond.

Woods said it appeared that Charlton was allegedly behind the scheme.

“He’s very together. He understands the stupidity of what has happened,” Woods said. “The larceny was a get well card to be sent to her brother in jail in Memphis.”

Both Price and Charlton are originally from Memphis, Wood said.

Officers involved said they were astounded at the lack of awareness exhibited by Price, who told officers she had consumed only two Xanex pills and a beer on the date of the drug sale.

“You’ve got some crooks that are dumb as dirt and others that are brilliant,” Woods said.
