Volunteers, organizations needed to help serve Thanksgiving meal

For the last seven years, a free Thanksgiving dinner has been provided at Grateful Heart Outreach Ministry in Havelock.

However, the meal organizer, LaTanya Roane, is unable to organize the free meal this year because of a family obligation and is seeking volunteers, another church or an organization to take over the project for this Thanksgiving.

The group has also delivered meals to shut-ins and others unable to get to the ministry.

Roane would like to have volunteers or another church or organization in place by Friday.

“It’s been very good and worthwhile and I’m praying some of the other churches will step up,” Roane said. “We couldn’t have done it without the volunteers.”

For more information or to volunteer, call Roane at 447-5426.
