The musical duo Scearce and Ketner are scheduled to perform as part of the Friends of Fort Macon concert series at 7 p.m. Friday at Fort Macon.
The concert will be the last in the series for the summer.
Dicky Scearce and Jack Ketner have played up and down the East Coast for about a decade and continue to be a popular draw along the Crystal Coast. They perform what they call “Carolina Pyrate Rock” or “Seagrass.” Their music incorporates a mix of island, beach, Jimmy Buffett tunes and originals, blending their voices with a variety of acoustic instruments.
Gates at the fort will be open throughout the day. The performance is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. While picnic baskets are permitted, no alcohol or pets are allowed inside the fort for the performance.
Fort Macon State Park is located at the end of East Fort Macon Road (N.C. 58) in Atlantic Beach.
