Motorcycle ride to benefit Special Olympics

The Havelock Police Department has scheduled its Coastline to the Finish Line benefit motorcycle ride for Sept. 7 in Havelock.

The event raises money for the North Carolina Special Olympics.

The cost is $25 per bike by Saturday, and $30 per bike afterward. The cost includes a Special Olympics T-shirt and a meal served at the end of the ride. Extra T-shirts can be purchased for $10.

Event-day registration is scheduled for 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Havelock Police Department. Afterward, bikes will head along U.S. 70 East to Atlantic Beach, then on N.C. 58 to Emerald Isle, continuing on to Maysville, then take U.S. 17 to New Bern before returning via U.S. 70 to Havelock. Refreshments will be provided along the route, and law enforcement agencies will provide an escort.

Registration forms are available at the Havelock Police Department. Rain date for the event is Sept. 8.
