Three ceremonies are scheudled in honor of Memorial Day this weekend.
The Havelock Memorial Day service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at the Memorial Monument in front of the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.
The ceremony, put on by the Knights of Columbus, includes a guest speaker, wreath presentation and ceremony to recognize prisoners of war and those missing in action.
The Craven County Veteran’s Council has scheduled its annual Memorial Day program for 11 a.m. Monday at the National Cemetery in New Bern.
Sgt. Maj. Holly C. Prafke, who serves in the Marine Corps, is the scheduled speaker.
The ceremony is scheduled to include a color guard, rifle team and bugler from Cherry Point. The Havelock Community Band is scheduled to provide music.
Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The Carteret County Veterans Services Office has scheduled its annual Memorial Day Service for Saturday at the Carteret County Veterans Memorial at Courthouse Square in Beaufort.
The Havelock Community Band is scheduled to provide a musical prelude beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the service scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
U.S. Rep. Walter B. Jones, R-N.C., 3rd Dist., is the scheduled guest speaker for the ceremony.
