Havelock to hold National Day of Prayer service

Havelock will celebrate the National Day of Prayer with a service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Havelock.

The ecumenical service is free and open to the public.

The Havelock-Cherry Point Ministerial Association is holding the service, which will feature prayers and words from pastors from Havelock-area churches.

After the service, refreshments will be served outside on the church grounds, weather permitting.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual service held on the first Thursday of May and is designed to invite people of all faiths to come together to pray for the country.

First United Methodist Church is located at 324 Miller Blvd., in Havelock.
