The Havelock Christmas Parade is seeking participants for its 42nd annual event scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.

The parade is open to any civic organizations, business, church group or individual but an application must be completed that includes a brief description about the entry.

Parade floats will be judged with first-, second- and third-place awards presented. Floats must be lined up by 1:30 p.m. to be judged.

The theme for this year’s parade is "The Joy of Christmas."

The entry for businesses wishing to participate is $25, while there is no charge for nonprofit groups.

The parade route will start at the eastern end of East Main Street in the Cherry Shopping Center and continue west to Cunningham Boulevard and end in front of the city’s Harrier monument.
