Students out of school for the summer have an option for lunch at Cherry Point United Methodist Church in Havelock.

The church has teamed up with First United Methodist Church in Havelock to offer free lunches beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays.

The program is initially designed for students who are out of school for the summer and no longer have access to free and reduced lunches through the school system, but the program is open to any student and adults as well.

After lunch, participants will be sent home with a snack bag of healthy treats and breakfast food as well.

A lending library will be available for students as well, and all participants will receive a backpack full of school supplies.

Donations of fresh produce for the program can be made to either church.
