Benefit movie night to be held on Friday

Coastal Beacon Church of the Nazarene in Havelock has scheduled a benefit movie night for Friday.

The movie "Safe Haven," adapted from a book by New Bern author Nicholas Sparks, is to be shown beginning at 9 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

The showing is part of a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. A $3 donation is suggested.

A concession stand will have popcorn, nachos, candy and drinks available for purchase.

The movie stars Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. It is rated PG-13.

The movie is the story of Katie Feldman, who in an attempt to rebuild her life relocates to the coastal town of Southport. The town’s grocery, Alex, and his two children teach her to live again, but a stranger new in town threatens her new life. But instead of running, she fights to protect her new life and new love.

Coastal Beacon Church of the Nazarene is located at 301 Greenfield Heights Blvd., across the railroad tracks behind Food Lion.
