Letter: VFW appreciates support of circus

Published: Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 06:30 PM.

I am writing to thank everyone whose efforts have made the Cole Brothers Circus visit to Havelock a resounding success.

The money made by our ticket outlets as well as that made at the gate will be used by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Havelock Post 7315, to assist those in need in our local area. The Craven-Cherry Point Child Development Center, veterans and their families in need will all share in the money that was received from this VFW sponsored event.

A special thanks to Tops Cigars and Tavern, and Kittrell Auto Parts in Havelock, and Coastal Mini Storage on U.S. 70 West for serving as vendors. We are grateful to the city of Havelock and the Parks and Recreation Department for their assistance for providing access to water for the circus, and the Havelock Community Emergency Response Team for providing parking assistance.

Above all, I would like to thank the citizens of Havelock and the surrounding area for their attendance. We owe our success to your participation. Thank you.

John Flanigan, Circus Chairman, VFW Post 7315
