Letter: It's important to vote in city election

Published: Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 04:00 PM.

I would like to address all of the registered voters in Havelock. And, if you haven’t registered to vote yet, go do it.

In less than a week, you have the important ability to vote for who you want to lead our town. This is your right. There are still countries where their people do not have that privilege.

Some of you will say “my vote does not count.” That is not true. Every vote counts.

I am not asking you to vote for any specific individual but to just come out and vote on Nov. 5.

I do ask that you vote for who you believe would do the best job and not be swayed by what someone has told you. Rumors and innuendo are out there. Negative comments or statements are sure to come out in elections. We all need to verify what is correct and factual.

Havelock is not Washington, D.C. We do not need or want that type of ugly politics. I just ask everyone to vote.

George Liner, Havelock
