Election asteroid is heading straight for us

So I herewith surrender to the subject, but like both candidates, have nothing new to say. You know where I stand. I have absolutely no use whatsoever for President Barack Obama and his policies.

I’ve tried to work out my psychological issue regarding the president but last week’s debate made me give up. Call me un-American but I’ve quit forcing myself to listen to his preacher man sing-song blather. I left the room a few times during that debate.

I made an effort to listen and concentrate on his messages but failed to find anything solid in them not diluted by smoke and special oils. President Obama has a tenuous relationship with the truth in the best traditions of Chicago politics. I’m not an idiot and resent being talked to as such.

Nov. 6 is rendezvous day for our electoral asteroid. That night or in the wee hours of the morning, we’ll know if it missed us or Chubby Checker can write a new tune, "It’s Dinosaur Time!"

No "Bruce Willis" heroics but I’ll do everything possible to avoid impact. To that end, my wife Ann and I will help raise Deflector Shields against the threat by casting our votes early.

I hope Captain Kirk doesn’t mind me using Star Trek armor against liberal forces. Appropriately, there was a convention of "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" fans in Cape Carteret over the weekend.

Live long and prosper. I miss Spock.
