Havelock board to hold planning sessions
The Havelock Board of Commissioners has scheduled a planning retreat session Tuesday and Wednesday at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.
The meeting, designed to provide updates and information to the board from all city departments, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Commissioners and staff are expected to discuss city staff projections and analysis of the city budget beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and follow up with city employee benefit matters. Public safety matters will be discussed beginning at 10 a.m., federal lobbying efforts at 1:15 p.m. and stormwater runoff at 2:15 p.m.
On Wednesday, public services will be addressed at 8:30 a.m., followed by planning department issues at 9:45 a.m. Parks and Recreation takes center stage at 12:45 p.m., with various other city issues at 1:45 p.m. The board will hear about city vehicle needs and capital improvement beginning at 3 p.m.
The planning retreat is open to the public.
