Rodney Gibbs was arrested a day after he was charged with shooting two men in a Havelock hotel parking lot.

According to the Havelock police, Gibbs, 37, of Havelock, shot both Joseph Vachon, 38, and Stevn Todd, 30, both of Havelock, in the leg around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunset Inn on Nunn Street. Officers from each department, as well as Probation and Parole, met and then arrived at the address around 10 p.m. Thursday and arrested Gibbs without incident, according to the release.

Gibbs has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and one count of a felon in possession of a firearm and jailed on a $2 million bond.

A motive for the shooting was not released.
