The USO will be serving free dinners to select military personnel and their families.
The free meal nights dubbed “No Dough Dinner” will be served up at the Two Rivers Theater and Event Center, located at 3963 Roosevelt Blvd. in Havelock, on April 25, and at the USO of North Carolina in Jacksonville located at 9 Tallman St. in Jacksonville on April 30.
Both venues will begin serving promptly at 6 p.m.
No Dough Dinner is open to service members and their families, including active duty, reserve, and National Guard. Registration priority is for E6 and below. Tickets are required, and the type of food served isn't announced beforehand.
Now in its sixth year in Jacksonville and entering its third year in Havelock, the evening meal provides warm nourishment to armed service members and their dependents, but above all it allows a night of fellowship, according to Amy Leuschke, assistant director of the Jacksonville USO.
“We do this dinner 10 times per year in Jacksonville and quarterly over at Cherry Point,” Leuschke said. “We offer these meals to help military families stretch their budgets,” Leuschke said.
To get tickets to No Dough Dinner visit the USO’s website at northcarolina.uso.org/events/164. Seating is limited.
