1, Crystal Coast Bridal Fair

The Crystal Coast Bridal Fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City.

The show will feature more than 50 vendors and wedding professionals ranging from photographers, florists, bands and others. A fashion show is included as well as samples and prizes.

An all-inclusive ticket package is $15 and includes an after party from 6 to 10 p.m. with more catering samples, dinner and party. Advance tickets for the bridal fair only are $8. Tickets on the day of the event are $18 and $10, respectively.

2. Warner to perform

Dennis Warner will play Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Trent River Coffee Company, 208 Craven St., New Bern, as part of the Down East Folk Arts Society series.

General Admission will be $16, with active duty military and Down East FolkArts Society members admitted for $13. Tickets for full-time students will be $10.

Warner will repeat his performance at the same time Saturday at the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship at 1300 Evans St., in Morehead City.

Warner regularly performs in more than 100 cities each year and was recently invited for a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

3. Heart Ball fundraiser

The annual New Bern Heart Ball is slated for Saturday at 6 p.m. at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, 203 S. Front St., New Bern.

The event features an evening of dancing, dining, and live and silent auctions, with proceeds going to support the American Heart Association’s mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

4. Whale presentation

The N.C. Maritime Museum in Beaufort has scheduled a presentation by Museum of Natural Science Curator Keith Rittmaster from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Rittmaster will focus on a recent whale watching excursion he took to the Sea of Cortez between the Baja Peninsula and mainland Mexico. The presentation will include photographs and video of the marine life he observed.

5. The Seamaster

The Seven Stories Theatre Company is scheduled to present a production of Sam Graber’s The Seamaster at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday at the Carteret Community College Bryant Student Center, 3505 Arendell St., in Morehead City.

The Seamaster celebrates the maritime heritage of the Bogue Sound and Crystal Coast, combining history and mythology into a tale of love, loss and legacy.
