Aquarium plans Behind the Scenes tours
1. T-ball registration
The Havelock T-ball league has scheduled registration for its upcoming 2018 season.
Regular registration is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday in January at the Havelock Recreation Center off Fontana Boulevard. The registration fee is $50.
Late registration is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 3 and 10. The late registration fee is $60.
No checks will be accepted for registration fees, only cash, credit cards or debit cards. Registration fee includes a hat and shirt.
Boys and girls ages 3 to 8 are eligible to participate. Birth certificates and proof of address is required at the time of registration.

2. Soccer registration
The Havelock Youth Soccer Association has scheduled registration for its upcoming 2018 spring season.
Registration is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and again on Jan. 13 and Jan. 20 at the Burger King at 102 East Main St., in Havelock.
Online registration is also available by going to the association website at www.havelocksoccer.org and clicking registration information under the developmental tab. The deadline to register is Jan. 21.
The league is open to both boys and girls. Birth certificate varication is required.

3. Aquarium tours
The N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores has scheduled Behind The Scenes Tours Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Each tour begins at 2:30 p.m. and lasts about one hour.
The tour Friday is called Shark Snack and includes food preparation areas, animal holding areas and labs as well as an overhead view of the Living Shipwreck exhibit. Participants can also watch the feeding of the sharks. The cost is $20 and ages 5 and older are eligible.
The Saturday tour called Aquarium Close Encounters includes a visit to the labs and holding areas, as well as the chance to feed some of the animals in both the fresh water and salt water exhibits. The cost is $20 and ages 8 and older are eligible.
The Sunday tour called Aquarium at a Glance includes a visit to the labs, animal holding areas and Living Shipwreck exhibit. The cost is $12 and ages 5 and older are eligible.
Events wrap up on Monday with the Succulent Seafood Series from 2 to 4 p.m. where local chefs demonstrate how to prepare fresh, local seafood. A taste test is included. The cost is $18 and ages 12 and older are eligible.

4. Bonnie & Clyde
New Bern Civic Theatre kicks off the 2018 season on Friday with Bonnie & Clyde, the first of eight shows.
It marks the start of the 50th anniversary of New Bern’s longest-running community theater group.
Other performances are Saturday, Jan. 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. matinees on Sunday and Jan. 14 at 414 Pollock St.
It is directed by Patrick Bliss and produced by Lauren Taylor, with musical direction by Deannie Singleton.

5. Circa 1810 entertainment
Circa 1810 at The Harvey Mansion 221 S. Front St., New Bern, has entertainment four nights this week.
It begins Thursday with Dueling Pianos at 8 p.m., continues with Jill and The Authentics at 8 p.m. Friday, and Aaron Davenport at 8 p.m. Saturday. The weekend caps on Sunday with Strung Together at 5 p.m.
