Operation Spotlight results in charges against eight more people

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office announced eight more arrests in connection with what it calls Operation Spotlight, an effort to target those involved in the illegal sale and delivery of narcotics.

The collaborative effort among the sheriff’s office, Havelock Police Department and Morehead City Police Department has results in a total of 52 arrests.

The most recent arrests and charges include:

Karla Lindsey Baber, 33, Morehead City, one count of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule III controlled substance. Bond is $1,500. Matthew Daniel Bailey, 19, Beaufort, one count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance, sell a schedule VI controlled substance, deliver a schedule VI controlled substance. Bond is $7,000. Sammie Fenderson, 70, Morehead City, two counts of sell and deliver marijuana, one count each of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule II controlled substance. Bond is $25,000. Heather Pauline Gray, 28, Havelock, one count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, sell a schedule II controlled substance, deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance, sell a schedule VI controlled substance, deliver a schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for sell of a controlled substance. Bond is $10,000. Shqueta Jones, 44, New Bern, one count of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule II controlled substance. Bond is $2,500. Jordan Christian Murray, 20, Newport, two counts of trafficking opium or heroin and one count of felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance. Bond is $2 million. Xavier Markel Norman, 23, Maysville, one count each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, manufacture a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for sell of a controlled substance. Bond is $7,500. Gregory Joseph Petronis, 33, Grifton, four counts of trafficking opium or heroin. Bond is $2 million.
