1. Gift show

The Mistletoe Magic Holiday Gift Show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City.

Admission is $4 and children 12 and under are free. More than 60 vendors with a variety of handmade and commercial items will be available.

2. Jim Quick and Coastline

Jim Quick and Coastline are scheduled to perform beginning at 9 p.m. Friday at Salt in Emerald Isle.

The band plays a variety of beach, soul, blues and rock music. There will be a cover.

3. Ruth Wyand concerts

Ruth Wyand is scheduled to perform as part of the Down East Folk Arts Society Concert Series on Friday at the Trent River Coffee Company in New Bern and on Saturday at Joslyn Hall at Carteret Community College in Morehead City.

Doors open at both venues at 6:30 p.m., with the performance set for 7:30 p.m.

General admission is $16, active-duty military and society members are $13, and students are $10.

Wyand is a folk and blues singer and guitarist known as a fingerpicker and slide guitar player and music historian.

4. ArtWalk

ArtWalk is a casual celebration of art and community in downtown New Bern on the second Friday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m.

Many galleries and studios have new exhibits and artist receptions. Local restaurants, shops and entertainment venues have special attractions for the event.

A schedule of locations is available at the Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle St., home of the sponsoring Craven Arts Council.

5. Sunday Jazz Brunch

The Arts Council of Carteret County has scheduled a Sunday Jazz Brunch beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Bistro by the Sea in Morehead City.

The event will feature Grenoldo Frazier with a program called The Evolution of 20th Century Jazz. Frazier is a New York pianist who grew up in Wilmington.

The cost is $45 which includes a continental brunch buffet. Tickets are available at Bistro by the Sea.
