Arthur Edwards Elementary to host Rummage Sale
1. Blood Drive
The American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the fellowship hall of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Havelock.
The Red Cross reports that all blood types are needed as the holiday season approaches.
St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church is located at the corner of East Main and Nunn streets across from Bojangles in Havelock.

2. Rummage Sale
Arthur W. Edwards Elementary School in Havelock has scheduled a Rummage Sale from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Fee for vendors is $20, while a yard sale table is $10. Only one consultant per vendor company will be permitted.
Included in the event will be a dessert war in which bakers will be a $10 entry fee to compete against others in the fall-themed dessert contest. The winner will receive a gift basket.
A local animal adoption shelter will also be on hand.
The event raises money for the school’s Parent Teacher Association, which is attempting to raise money to replace old playground equipment.
Arthur Edwards Elementary School is located at 200 Education Lane, Havelock.

3. Craven County Jaycees Fair
The Craven County Jaycees Fair continues through Sunday at the fairgrounds on U.S. 70 East between Havelock and New Bern.
Gates open at 6 p.m. on weekdays, noon on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $5, with free entry for ages 3 and under and those age 65 and over. Tickets for unlimited rides are $20, good for all day. Single tickets are $1.
There will be lots of vendors and food expos as well as games and rides.

4. Bacon and Brew Festival
The New Bern Bacon and Brew Festival is slated for Friday, benefiting The United Way of Coastal Carolina.
The 5 p.m. event will be at the New Bern Farmers Market, 421 S. Front St. Admission is $10 advance, $15 at the door. All beer and food items will be available for purchase. This is not a sampling event.
It includes live music with Dr. Bacon, beer selection, food trucks with a bacon-themed menu, games and more. Attendees must be age 21. Dr. Bacon is an Asheville-based seven-piece Appalachian Funk Rock group.

5. Crystal Coast scavenger hunt
The Hunt the Crystal Coast scavenger hunt is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature more than 100 clues, riddles, challenges and items to find. It will feature hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes, including hidden Easter Eggs with cash stuffed in them as well as Mad Dash items for extra bonus points and prizes.
Pre-registration is $25, while cost on the day of the event is $30.
