1. Alive at Five concert
The Bounce Party Band is scheduled to perform as part of the Alive at Five concert series from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jaycee Park along the waterfront in Morehead City.
The six-piece band plays a variety of high-energy music.
Admission is free. Those attending can bring blankets and lawn chairs, but outside food and beverages are not permitted. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
Other performances in the Alive at Five series include Punch on July 7, Jim Quick and the Coastline Band on July 21, the Mikele Buck Band on Aug. 4, the Jan Michael Fields Band on Aug. 18, and North Tower on Sept. 1.

2. Band of Oz to play
The Band of Oz and Jupiter Jones headline the first concert in the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce’s summer concert series at 5 p.m. Friday at the New Bern Farmers Market, 421 S. Front St.
Jupiter Jones calls itself a high-energy party band that can play a variety of today’s popular music, classic dance music and even some country favorites.
The Band of Oz formed in 1967 and continues to be one of the most popular dance and beach music bands in the Southeast.
Admission is $15 in advance, $20 at the gate. MEGA Ticket available for $35 and includes one ticket for each concert in Summer Concert Series. Tickets are available at Mitchell Hardware or the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce.

3. 'Cool' John Ferguson to perform
Guitarist and singer “Cool” John Ferguson will be the featured musician during the Jazz Preservation Society’s New Bern Blues Night beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.
Ferguson is considered one of the region’s best blue guitarists, with his songs combining the best of gospel, funk, country, jazz, and rhythm and blues.
Tickets are $40, available at multiple sites including the convention center and at The Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle St., New Bern.

4. Neil Diamond tribute set
The New Bern Civitan Club hosts a Neil Diamond Tribute Show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Grover C. Fields Performing Art Center in New Bern.
The lead singer is Mark Reno, a highly-acclaimed tribute artist from New Jersey who has spent more than 20 years touring the U.S. and Europe in a tribute to Elvis Presley.
Singer and actress Michelle Roy of New Bern will be the guest artist.
General admission tickets are $35, available the Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle St., and the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, 203 S. Front St.
VIP seating is $45. Preferred reserved seating is $40.

5. Fort Macon to host free concerts
Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach has scheduled a pair of free concerts this weekend as part of its Summer Concerts in the Forts series.
The concerts are scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
On Friday, the Cajun/zydeco band Unknown Tongues is scheduled to perform.
On Saturday the Morehead City Brass Consortium playing pop and classic music is scheduled to perform.
The concerts are free, and those attending are welcome to bring blankets and chairs. Glass bottles and pets are prohibited.
