St. Timothy Church plans yard sale

1. Havelock Senior Athletic Banquet scheduled

The Havelock High School Senior Athletic Banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.

Guest tickets are $25. Senior athletes pay a $10 deposit to attend that will be returned upon arrival at the event.

Havelock football coach Caleb King is the scheduled speaker for the event, which includes dinner.

2. St. Timothy Lutheran Church plans yard sale

St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Havelock has scheduled a yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Various household items will be available as well as furniture and clothing in various sizes, especially women’s brand name clothing.

Breakfast and lunch food as well as beverages will be available.

Proceeds benefit the church’s building fund.

St. Timothy Lutheran Church is located at 140 U.S. 70 across from the Hampton Inn.

3. Crystal Coast Music Festival scheduled for Saturday

The Crystal Coast Music Festival is scheduled from 1:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Atlantic Beach Circle.

Headlining the concert is Need To Breathe, which is scheduled to perform at 8:30 p.m.

Other performances include Rebekah Todd and The Odyssey at 1:30 p.m., Los Colognes at 2:30 p.m., Bombadil at 3:45 p.m., Shovels and Rope at 5 p.m., and Dr. Dog at 6:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $50 the day of the event. VIP tickets are $125. Re-entry is permitted with a festival wristband.

4. Tryon Palace to host Colonial Market Days this weekend

Tryon Palace has scheduled its Colonial Market Days renaissance fair outdoor festival for Saturday and Sunday.

The event celebrates the period of 1660-1720 with an outdoor market, encampments and multiple performance stages that feature a variety of entertainers, including musicians, puppet shows, magic shows, singing, dancing, and theatre. The Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corps and Jonkonnu Troupe are included.

The fair will also have a wide range of children’s activities like pony rides, a petting farm, and activities and crafts.

Food vendors, historical goods, and crafts vendors will be available.

Also, meet with pirates and privateers to learn about life on the sea.

Admission plus tax is $20 for adults; $10 for youth ages 7 to 18; $18 for foundation members; and $8 for foundation youth, ages 7 to 18. Preschool youngsters will be admitted free.

5. Carteret Sunshine Band to perform at Fort Macon

The Carteret Sunshine Band is scheduled to perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach.

The free outdoor performance is part of the Friends of Fort Macon Summer Concert Series.

Those attending can bring chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner, but alcohol, glass and pets are prohibited.
