1. Easter Egg Hunt

The Havelock Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Havelock City Park.

Children will be divided based on age with each age group having its own section of the park to collect, ages zero to 2, ages 3 to 5, ages 6 to 10 and a special needs group.

Those attending should bring their own Easter baskets. The Easter Bunny will be stopping by and be available for photos, and there will be other activities for children to enjoy.

2. Community Day

The Havelock campus of Craven Community College has scheduled a Community Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The event will allow visitors the chance to meet with academic and financial aid advisors of the school. It also includes music and games. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

The Havelock campus of Craven Community College is located on Cunningham Boulevard next to Havelock Elementary School.

3. Homes Tour

The New Bern Spring Historic Homes and Gardens Tour is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday in New Bern.

The event features self-guided tours of historic homes, six churches and various other sites, including Tryon Palace and The City Laundry. This year’s featured home is the Palmer-Tisdale house, a 250-year-old home listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tickets, which are good for both days, are $18 in advance, $22 on the days of the tour, $14 for students and active-duty military and their families, and $15 each for groups of 12 or more.

4. Pottery Festival

The East Carolina Pottery Festival is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the N.C. History Center, 529 South Front St., in New Bern.

The event will feature more than 50 potters who will sell, exhibit and demonstrate their pottery.

Admission is free.

5. Hoedown Throwdown

The Hoedown Throwdown is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.

Sponsored by the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce, the event features the bands Sutter’s Gold Streak, 3 Day Weekend and Cuzins.
