1. Concert on the Lawn
The Havelock campus of Craven Community College is scheduled to host the Concert on the Lawn from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The campus is located at 305 Cunningham Blvd. in Havelock.
The event will feature music and entertainment, with a performance by the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Jazz Band headlining the event.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Food trucks will be on hand selling food and drinks.
The first 50 students currently registered at the college to arrive will receive a stadium blanket. Guests can bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

2. Fishing School
The 11th Annual Get Hooked Fishing School will be Saturday at the N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
The day-long seminar features in-depth presentations by experienced anglers on fishing techniques and species-specific methods. There will be additional presentations and demonstrations during a catered lunch. The event also includes giveaways and drawings for fishing gear.
Get Hooked is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and all sessions are at the aquarium.

3. Home and Garden Show
The 2017 New Bern Home and Garden Show is scheduled Saturday and Sunday at New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, 203 South Front St.
Times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for the free show.
The annual ENC Live New Bern Home & Garden Show will feature more than 80 local experts showcasing products and ideas, and giving advice for projects.
Five people who attend will each win $500 to be spent with the vendor of their choice.
It will feature landscaping exhibits, workshops and cash and carry items– J.R. Watkins, LulaRoe, Scentsy, Lipsense and many more.
On Sunday, The Bears oldies band will play on the Riverfront Patio at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

4. Carole King tribute
The Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle St., New Bern, hosts a Carole King musical tribute at 7 p.m. on Saturday as part of its At the Gallery series.
The music will be performed by Heather Pierson, Sean Nadeau and Davy Sturtevant. A pre-concert lecture on King’s life is at 6:30 p.m.

The Rotary Club of New Bern’s 2017 Sham-Rockin’ St. Patrick’s Celebration is Friday at the North Carolina History Center, 529 South Front St., New Bern.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the Sham-Rockin’ will continue until 10 p.m. The Chelsea Restaurant will serve corned beef and cabbage. R.A. Jeffries, the beverage sponsor, will offer beer and wine.
During dinner, listen or do a jig to Irish music. After dinner, dance to the popular band, Trainwreck.
