Police say Gilmore had drugs in hotel room

A Havelock man was arrested on multiple drug charges last week at the Hostess House in Havelock.

Jericho Alexander Gilmore, 19, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia after his initial arrest on Feb. 27, according to a release from the Havelock Police Department. Additional charges filed against Gilmore include intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule I, schedule II and schedule IV controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon.

Havelock police were alerted to a room in the Hostess House by the smell of marijuana on Feb. 27, according to the release. Police entered the room and saw a wide array of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. A more thorough search of the room revealed additional drugs and materials that indicated an intent to distribute, according to the release.

Gilmore was taken into custody and was found to be carrying a switchblade knife, according to the release.

Gilmore was taken to the Craven County Jail under a $15,000 bond. He is scheduled for a court appearance on June 1, according to the court calendar.
