Event Tuesday at First United Methodist
Parents who have a child entering public school kindergarten in Craven County in the fall are eligible to attend information sessions called Kindergarten: Ready, Set, Go.
The free event is designed to help parents prepare for their child’s transition to kindergarten.
The Havelock session is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church at 324 Miller Blvd. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m.
The sessions do not include kindergarten registration, which is scheduled for March 17 at all Craven County public elementary schools. The sessions will include information about school policies as well as requirements for kindergarten. Information will also be available on preparing a child for kindergarten.
Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2017 to be eligible for public school kindergarten.
Parents or guardians should preregister for the sessions by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling Carmen Morgan with Craven County Schools at 514-4338.
The sessions are a collaborative effort of Craven County Schools and Craven Smart Start with the support of First United Methodist Church of Havelock.
