Train show scheduled this weekend

1. Blood Drive

The American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Havelock.

The church is located at the corner of East Main and Nunn streets across from the Bojangles.

2. Fish Fry

Beginning this Friday and running through April 14, the church will be selling plates of fried flounder, baked beans, cole slaw and hush puppies from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dine-in or take-out is available.

Regular plate is $8, while a large plate is $10. Order can be called in to the church office.

Proceeds will go toward capital improvements for the church.

3. Train Show

The 22nd annual Carolina Coastal Railroaders Train Show will be Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. each day at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center, 203 S. Front St., New Bern.

Admission is $7. Those under age 12 are admitted free with an adult. Admission is good for both days.

It will feature operating layouts in all scales and Thomas the Train in HO and G Scales. Many vendors will be buying and selling all kinds and scales of railroad equipment.

The event will includes food concessions and hourly prize drawings.

4. ABC Indoor Yard Sale

The New Bern Historical Society’s 27th annual ABC — Attic-Basement-Closet — Indoor Yard Sale will be Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Building, 1125 Pinetree Drive, New Bern.

Everything from dishes to dolls to door knobs will be sold. Items available will include antiques, collectibles, pictures, furniture, kitchenware, hardware, toys, jewelry, books, linens, silver, seasonal decorations, sporting equipment, electronics, brass, dishes and much more. Admission is free.

Proceeds from the ABC Sale benefit the educational programs of the New Bern Historical Society. The Historical Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate and promote New Bern and its history.

5. Home and Garden Show

The annual Home and Garden Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City.

The event will feature various exhibitors and information on builders, landscapers, interior design, outdoor living spaces, home improvement, pool and spas, kitchens and baths.
