Brodie currently in Ashe County Jail

A suspect wanted in connection with the theft of 18 iPods from the Havelock Wal-Mart is in custody.

Jonathan Arthur Brodie, of Henderson, has been charged with felony larceny in connection with the Dec. 17 theft, according to a release from the Havelock Police Department.

Brodie is suspected in multiple larceny cases from across the state, according to the press release, and is currently being held in the Ashe County Jail with similar charges pending.

Security video from Wal-Mart on Dec. 17 shows a suspect using a set of keys to unlock a cabinet and take the iPods. The Havelock Police Department released the video on Jan. 20 to the public, asking for help in identifying the suspect.

According to the release, the police department received a number of tips from residents through publication of the video through the media and the sharing of the video of social media sites and was able to identify Brodie as the suspect in the case.
