City meeting set for 7 p.m.
Havelock’s Board of Commissioners will consider insufficient funding for water line repairs at its workshop tonight.
Havelock Public Services Director Mark Sayger will deliver a report costs associated with maintenance of water lines and other related elements, including fire hydrants.
The city typically budgets about $25,000 for such repairs each year, but due to current repairs and cost of supplies that budget line will not meet expenses.
Sayger will be elaborating on the causes of the costs, which may demand approval of additional funding by the board.
In other business, the board will be asked to approve a request for an upgrade in the computer aided dispatch software used by police, fire and EMS in the city. The new system could cost $78,785. The new system will incorporate GIS information for street and address information.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. today at Havelock City Hall
