Newport to host Winterfest on Saturday

Winterfest is scheduled from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Newport Community Park.

The event will feature the reading of the Down East Christmas Story, tree decorating, visits with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies, and other Christmas activities.

2. Christmas Spectacular

The Carteret Community Theatre Players has scheduled its Christmas Spectacular at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday in Morehead City.

The show features a variety of music, dance and comedy.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children.

3. Claus Crawl

The Claus Crawl is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in Beaufort.

Tickets are $10 each and participants must be 21 or older.

Those participating will receive a Claus Crawl Mug with special offers to 10 locations in Beaufort, including the after-party at the Backstreet Pub.

The event includes raffles, give-aways, costume contest and live music.

4. Holiday Market

The Old Fashioned Holiday Market is scheduled from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the old courthouse square in Beaufort.

The event will feature 45 to 50 vendors and include live music, free gift-wrapping, hot drinks, a kids shopping plan and Santa and Mrs. Claus.

5. ‘White Christmas’

The RiverTowne Players of New Bern will conclude its presentation of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas the Musical” this weekend.

Shows are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Masonic Theatre, 514 Hancock St., New Bern.

It is directed by Patrick Bliss, with Assistant Director Shannon Whorton. Music is directed by Timothy Maddox, with choreography by Rebecca Gover.

Tickets: $16 in advance, $19 at the door. They are $10 for students.
