MumFest rescheduled for weekend
1. Veterans benefit concert
Tickets are on sale now for the Saturday fundraiser at New Bern’s Masonic Theatre — “Rockin’ for Relief for Homeless Veterans.”
Bobby Hurff of Peace Soldier, Hot Buttered Grits, Solid Ground, No Halos and Smoke House are scheduled to perform during the event, which begins at noon at 514 Hancock St.
The funding for the seven-hour benefit will go through Religious Community Services as a special project of the local nonprofit that provides assistance for the needy, including veterans, along with a soup kitchen and homeless shelter.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets are available at Fuller’s Music, 2310 Trent Road; The Brown Pelican, 411 Broad St.; and the office of WSFL 106.5., 207 Glenburnie Drive, all in New Bern.

MumFest is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in downtown New Bern.
The street festival includes entertainment, attractions, 200 exhibitors and vendors, and food.
It will include carnival games and children’s rides, a Kids Korner, a beer garden and a special area dedicated to North Carolina products.
There will be a boat show at Union Point Park, along with street entertainers and various animal exhibits and demonstrations.

3. Fort Macon
Hands On at Fort Macon is scheduled from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The event features demonstration and information on what life was like for soldiers and civilians at the fort during various eras.
The event includes cannon drills, musket drills, uniforms, small arms demonstration and cannon demonstration.

4. Holiday gift show
The Mistletoe Magic Holiday Gift Show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City.
The event will feature more than 60 vendors with unique gifts such as jewelry, pottery, wreaths, woodwork, ornaments, candles, children’s items, scarves, furniture, art, photography, monogrammed gifts, decor, chocolate and more.
Door prizes and concessions will be available.
Admission to the show is $4 for adults and $3 for seniors. Children 12 and under are free.
5. Bacon and Brew Festival
The New Bern Bacon and Brew Festival is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at the New Bern Farmers Market, 421 S. Front St.
The event will feature live music, beer selections, food trucks with a bacon-themed menu, games and more for those ages 21 and older.
Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
