Lagle also faces a drug charge
A Havelock man was arrested for pointing a gun in the parking lot of an adult entertainment nightclub parking lot early Monday morning.
David Joseph Lagle, also known as “D.J.,” of 905 Gum Branch Court, 25, in Havelock, is charged with assault by pointing a gun and simple possession of marijuana, according to Havelock police.
Police responded to the parking lot of Cherry’s at 400 Fontana Blvd., at 12:27 a.m. Monday to a report of a man pointing a gun.
“Apparently the manager over there kicked out a patron who was causing problems in the club,” Havelock Police Chief David Magnusson said. “In the parking lot, the subject pulled out a gun and pointed it.”
When police arrived, witnesses said the man had left in a black Chrysler 300. An investigation revealed the identity of the man, Magnusson said.
“We got an address on it and the officers being as tenacious as they are, they followed up and find out where the car is,” Magnusson said. “There was a call that came in about the same time of shots fired in the area of 900 Gum Branch Court, and that’s basically in the area where they were headed.
Officers located the car, and knocked on the door of the residence, Magnusson said. He said officers recovered a gun and a small amount of marijuana and took Lagle into custody.
Lagle posted a $2,500 secured bond. He is scheduled in court on Dec. 1.
According to the N.C. Department of Corrections website, Lagle has prior convictions for disorderly conduct, driving while impaired, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer and regulation liquors in Carteret and Craven counties.
