Rodeo scheduled for the fairgrounds
1. Bluegrass Festival
The annual Fall Bluegrass Festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at White Oak Shores Camping and RV Resort in the Carteret County community of Stella.
The two-day event features 20 shows from such performers as Al Batten and the Bluegrass Reunion, Carolina Tradition, Dowdy and Chandler, the South Ridge Bluegrass Band, Diamond Creek, Hwy. 85, Ted Jones and the Tarhill Boys, the Telluride Bluegrass Band, The old Gray Suits and the Wood Family Tradition.
Tickets are $20 per person per day or $35 for both days. A two-person, two-night camping price is $170.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Carteret Community College Foundation.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The Rockin H Championship Rodeo is scheduled for Friday through Sunday at the Craven County Fairgrounds in New Bern.
The rodeo will feature barrels, bull riding, team roping, break-away roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, and saddle and bare back bronco riding.
Preliminary rounds are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with the finals set for 2 p.m. Sunday.
Adult tickets are $17, with children 6 to 15 $12 and children under 6 free.

3. Flavor Festival
The Flavor Festival is scheduled for Saturday at the Islander Hotel and Resort at Emerald Isle.
The fundraising event for area charities is designed to celebrate craft beer, wine and coastal cuisine with 12 to 15 restaurants and 30 breweries represented.
General admission tickets for 1 p.m. admission are $45, while VIP tickets for noon admission are $55. The event concludes at 5 p.m.
Country musician Bryan Mayer will provide the entertainment.

4. Gathering Time concert
The group Gathering Time is scheduled to perform Friday at the Trent River Coffee Company in New Bern and Saturday at Joslyn Hall on the campus of Carteret Community College in Morehead City.
The band plays a variety of folk-rock Americana music from the 1960s and 1970s.
Doors open for both shows at 6:30 p.m., with the performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The performances are part of the Down East Folk Arts Society series.
Tickets are $16 for general admission, $13 for active-duty military and society members, and $10 for full-time students.

5. Evening at Cape
An Evening at Cape Lookout is scheduled from 7:15 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Cape Lookout National Seashore.
The event provides the chance to see the sun set and the moon rise from Cape Lookout and the opportunity to enjoy an evening climb of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse.
The cost is $28 and includes the cost of the passenger ferry to Cape Lookout from Harkers Island. Reservations are required.
