Various concerts dot weekend schedule
1. Evening at the Cape
Cape Lookout National Seashore has scheduled Evening at the Cape Lookout Lighthouse from 7:15 to 10 p.m. today through Saturday.
The event provides participants a chance to see the sun set and the moon rise from the uninhabited barrier island as well as the opportunity to climb the lighthouse.
A program includes information on Cape Lookout as well as the lighthouse and the lighthouse keepers.
The cost is $28, which includes ferry transportation to the island.

2. Alive at Five concert
The band Liquid Pleasure is scheduled to perform as part of the Alive at Five concert series from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jaycee Park, 807 Shepard St., in Morehead City.
The six-man band has been together for 20 years and has toured with Hootie and the Blowfish and REM, among others.
The Downtown Morehead City Revitalization Association sponsors the Alive at Five concert series, which are designed to feature family friendly music. Admission is free.
The association is a nonprofit group dedicated to restoring Morehead City to a vibrant economic, cultural, historic, social and recreation center.

3. Band of Oz
The Band of Oz is scheduled to perform from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Elks Lodge in Morehead City.
The eight-member band from Raleigh is one of the more popular bands playing beach and rhythm and blues music.
Advance tickets are $15. Tickets at the door will be available for $20.
The Elks Lodge is located at 400 Miller Farm Road in Morehead City.

4. Tribute Show
The Carteret Community Theatre has scheduled the Billy Joel/Elton John Face-2-Face Tribute Show from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday in Morehead City.
The performance will feature a variety of songs from the two artists.
Tickets range from $20 to $30.

5. Trophy Husbands in concert
The band Trophy Husbands is scheduled to perform a free concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Jaycee Park, 807 Shepard St., in Morehead City.
The band plays a variety of rock music.
The performance is part of the Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Concert Series.
