Jemsinia H. Chandler

Jemsinia H. Chandler, 89, of Vanceboro, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.

She was born in Panama, where she attended school through high school. She then attended business school in Jacksonville, Fla., where she was married to the late Badger J. Chandler. She then returned to Panama to work for the government there. In 1969, she came to Vanceboro and worked at Cherry Point until she retired.

Funeral was Monday at the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, Vanceboro.

Burial was in Celestial Gardens.

She is survived by one daughter, Leona C. Sullivan and husband, Douglas, of Washington, and two nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Badger J. Chandler, two sisters and three brothers.

Memorials my be made to the Vanceboro United Methodist Church, 560 Farm Life Ave., Vanceboro, NC 28586, or to Alzheimer’s Research Fund, ECU Medical Foundation, 525 Moye Blvd., Greenville, NC 27834.
