Valerian Teel
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Valerian Teel, 60, of Beaufort, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City.
He attended East Carteret High School and Carteret Community College. He retired from the U.S. Army as a disabled veteran after serving during the Vietnam War.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Queen Street M.B. Church, Beaufort, with the Rev. William Ellison officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Suzan W. Teel of the home; one son, Ray Perritt of Kinross, Mich.; three daughters, Kilakitushia Nairobi Teel of Morehead City, Christine Grijalva of Beaufort and Rosanna Paz of New Bern; four brothers, Roy Teel Jr. of Beaufort, Wallace Teel of Havelock, and Melvin Teel and Willie Teel of Abbyville, La.; three sisters, Quennie T. Gilmore of Morehead City, Gloria Neusch of Covina, Calif., and Ella Teel of Los Angeles, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the residence.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern, and at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service.
