Pump It Up benefit fundraisers scheduled
Our Town Café in Havelock is spearheading an effort to raise money to help pay for medical expenses for a 7-year-old girl.
Alexandria Rossi was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Treatment to stabilize her includes an insulin pump and monitoring system that insurance does not cover completely. About $3,000 is needed to help the family cover the remaining cost.
The restaurant, located at 3 Jaycee St., next to Havelock City Park, has scheduled a weekend of Pump It Up fundraisers.
A barbecue plate lunch is scheduled for Friday. The cost of each plate is $10. Plates must be ordered by Thursday morning.
An Italian dinner is scheduled from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the restaurant. The dinner includes salad, bread, main course, drink, cheesecake dessert and coffee. The cost is $20, and reservations are required.
The restaurant will hold an auction beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday. Among the items available will be gift baskets, gift certificates and even a golf package.
