Timmie Andrew Raynor Jr.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Timmie Andrew Raynor Jr., 64, of 326 Bogue Loop Road in the Bogue community of Newport, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
He retired from the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant after more than 30 years of service and numerous commendations. He was also a civil service retiree of Camp Lejeune, where he was a supervisor at the Naval Hospital. He was a member of God's City of Refuge Church, where he was the head deacon and vice president of the Board of Directors. He worked in the church's prison ministry.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the God's City of Refuge Church with the Rev. Willie Murray officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Young Raynor of the home; four sons, Timmie Raynor III and Gabriel Raynor of Newport, Antonio Raynor of Rocky Mount and Marcus Raynor of Swansboro; three brothers, Clifton Raynor and Elvis Raynor of Newport, and Reginald Raynor of Beaufort; two sisters, Joyce Williams of Pollocksville and Janice Bradley of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild;
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Home, 150 Williamsburg Parkway, Jacksonville, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
