Meet Miss Priss
Comments 0 | Recommend 0
Miss Priss is the accomplished Shetland sheep dog of Paul and Judy Styborski. They received the then 1-year-old dog on Valentine's Day in 2001, and they say she has proven to be an excellent pet. Miss Priss, now 9 years old, has completed the AKC Canine Good Citizens Program and has gone through social and therapy dog training. Judy Styborski and Miss Priss have worked as a team since their 2008 graduation in the therapy program at such places as the Wounded Warriors barracks at Camp Lejeune, at Britthaven of Havelock and at Summerset Assisted Living in Newport, where they make regular visits every two weeks. N.C. Sen. Jean Preston, R-Carteret County, even sent Miss Priss and Judy Styborski a citation for their work as therapy partners. Beyond her activities as a therapy dog, Miss Priss loves to perform tricks for anyone that will watch, according to the couple, but most of all, they said Miss Priss enjoys herding the couple's 15-pound cat, Tommy, around the house.
