Mary Blackwell Dawson

Mary Blackwell Dawson, 60, of Newport, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Britthaven of Newport.

She was born at Fort Campbell, Ky., to the late Virgil and Geneva Suiter Blackwell. She worked as an accounting technician for Pamlico County.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Holly Springs Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Conner officiating.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise Ipock Woolston of Newport and Carla Ipock Asander, of Stockholm, Sweden; one son, William David Ipock of Chincoteague, Va.; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC 27705.
