Lucy and Vernon Stocks came to Havelock in 1945 when they realized farming was not to be their life's work. Lucy was co-owner and operator for many years of Vernon's Texaco in Havelock. She and her husband were instrumental in the creation of First Baptist Church in Havelock. She loved her God and her church and was a member and faithful worker there for around 60 years as Sunday school teacher, Bible school director, choir member, and G.A. leader.
"Miss Lucy" will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to First Baptist Church would be appreciated.
