Safe at home

David Grudzecki of Noah's Glass Shop slides safely into home ahead of the tag by KFC catcher Christian Crowe in the first inning of Saturday's Little League game. KFC won the contest 9-4. The 58th season of Havelock Little League baseball officially kicked off with Opening Day ceremonies Saturday at the Havelock Recreation Complex. Players were introduced and recited the Little League pledge during the 30-minute program, which concluded with Commissioner Bob Priesing throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
