Casey and Shelley
With no pets submitted this week, we decieded to profile Casey, left, and Shelley, the dogs of Havelock News columnist Barry Fetzer. He said 5-year-old Casey was obtained from the New Bern animal shelter after someone found the dog abandoned and tied to a lamp post. He said Casey enjoys chasing lizards, tennis balls and squirrels, though the dog has had no luck in actually catching a squirrel. Fetzer said one of Casey's best tricks is going outside to fetch the paper, a feat much appreciated on cold mornings. Shelley is a pure-bred Golden Retriever. The 10-year-old dog was given away by her original owners. Fetzer said Shelley also enjoys chasing lizards and squirrels but won't chase tennis balls.
