D.M. “Bud” Britt
Comments 0 | Recommend 0D.M. “Bud” Britt, 82 of Havelock, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at Britthaven of Havelock.
He attended McCotter Boulevard Baptist Church. He retired after 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a 32-degree mason and a member of Cherry Point Lodge No. 688 and a member of the Havelock Shrine Club, where he was a Road Runner. He was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Vida Grantham Chapter No. 348. He enjoyed doing cross-stitch, woodworking and traveling.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McCotter Boulevard Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark McNeil officiating.
He is survived by his long-time companion K. Robinson; one daughter, Mary Britt Bowitz of Ridgeway, S.C.; three sons, Frank Britt of Tom Rivers, N.J., David L. Britt of New Jersey and D.M. “Buddy” Britt of Bar Harbour, Maine; five grandchildren, Don E. Byers of Greenville, S.C., Heather B. Ballentine of Ridgeway, S.C., Frank W. Britt Jr. of New York and Holly B. Hall of McComb, Miss.; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Benjamin Monroe Britt.
The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall.
